<p><b>The Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra</b> will hold an Open Rehearsal on <b>Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, </b>630 Mass Ave, Arlington, MA 02476. Registration at 7:00 PM, Rehearsal from 7:30 to 9:45 PM.</p>
<p>Come and enjoy playing music under the baton of music director Orlando Cela! We welcome players of all orchestral instruments who are interested in our upcoming season, and invite you to meet the orchestra, play with us, and discover what it’s like to be part of the Arlington Philharmonic. The orchestra will rehearse music to be performed at the first concert of the season: Saint-Saëns Symphony No. 3, and Bach/Webern Ricercar a <b>RSVP</b>

 is located at 160 Lexington St., Belmont, MA 02478. Free parking is 
available in front of the building. We are also walking distance from 
Waverly Square, which is serviced by the MBTA’s Commuter Rail (Fitchburg
 Line) and the 73 bus.</p>
<p><em>Accessibility information: Powers 
currently requires guests to go up a short flight of stairs to the main 
floor of the school. We are committed to improving access to our 
building for those with limited mobility. The school is in the early 
stages of this large and important project, but there is no formal 
timeline set for when it will be started/completed as of yet.</em></p>

Hancock United Church Of Christ

<p>Lexington Pops Chorus will hold <b>two free open rehearsals September 8<sup>th</sup> and 15<sup>th</sup>
at 7:30 p.m</b>. in Clark Hall at Hancock Church, 1912 Massachusetts Ave. Lexington. We invite new singers to join us in September and January, and we especially welcome new tenors.  Auditions are not required, but singers must be able to read music. We sing a wide variety of music, including classical, jazz, blues, folk, gospel, Broadway and more.</p>
<p>Our winter concerts scheduled for Friday evening, January 15<sup>th</sup>, and Sunday afternoon, January 17<sup>th</sup>, 2027, will feature Johann Sebastian Bach’s <i>Magnificat in D </i>(BWV 243), <i>A Gershwin Portrait, </i>“Satin Doll”, “Lift Every Voice and Sing”, and other selections. Our spring concerts will be on Friday evening, May 21<sup>st</sup>, and Sunday afternoon, May 23<sup>rd</sup>, 2027.  We often have guest soloists and additional instrumentalists at our concerts.</p>
<p>Lexington Pops Chorus is in its 45<sup>th</sup> season and enjoys the enthusiasm of singers from over 20 towns. Maxwell Evrard has been the chorus’s Conductor/Director for four years. John Tarrh has been the Assistant Conductor for 12 years. David Owens, Accompanist, is in his 23<sup>rd</sup> season with the chorus. Lexington Pops Chorus is a member of The Greater Boston Choral Consortium.</p>

<p>Is joining a chorus on your "to-do" list?  We are recruiting new singers for the Arlington-Belmont Chorale, a community chorus of approximately 65 members. Whether you sing soprano, alto, tenor, or bass, we welcome you to visit our rehearsals, sing with us and see if our group is a good fit. This season, we are particularly interested in recruiting basses. </p>
<p>Chorale rehearsals are held at the <b>Park Avenue Congregational Church, 50 Paul Revere Road (corner of Park Avenue), Arlington, MA on Monday evenings, from 7:45-10:00 PM.</b> Rehearsals for our upcoming season begin on <b>Monday, September 14. </b></p>
<p>We have a choral music library, and therefore music will be loaned to each performing singer. We also use online practice files highlighting each part which are very helpful in learning the notes.  </p>
<p>Our Holiday Concert with the Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra will be held on <b>Friday, Dec. 11, at 8 pm at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, Mass. Ave, Arlington. </b> The Chorale will be performing with the orchestra Schubert’s<i> “Mass No. 2 in G Major”. </i>We will also perform “<i>Dreamweaver” </i>by Ola Gjeilo with small instrumental accompaniment.</p>

Ephraim Curtis Middle School

<p>On Sunday, September 20th, Sudbury will host our third inaugural <a href="https://kids.pmc.org/sudbury" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Sudbury PMC Kids Bike Ride</a>.&nbsp;Our ride is a 1-mile loop that riders may enjoy as long as they would like. The one mile course is entirely paved and loops through the beautiful residential neighborhoods of historic Sudbury. Parents are welcome to ride with their children but it is not required. If a parent chooses to accompany their child on the bike, we ask that they register as volunteers.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Many kids choose to ride the loop 3-6-12 or even 15 times. We encourage riders to participate as long as they would like. We will have special badges for riders who accomplish 5-8-12 and 15 miles, too! Please indicate at registration an estimate of your rider's total distance (this will help us for event organization).&nbsp;</p><p>There is also an enclosed parking lot loop all starting from Curtis Middle School in Sudbury, MA. (Adults may opt to register as volunteers if they would like to ride with the kids). Before the ride there will be music and bike decorating; during the ride and following there will be an Ice-Cream Truck, Food Truck, Coffee Truck, huge bouncy castle, lawn games, music and more. All registered riders will get a free ice cream from our friends at Trombetta’s Farm Ice Cream. Registration takes place from 8:30am-9:45am. The ride is from 10:00am-11:30am, and food and games will be available from 10:00am - 1:00pm.</p>
<p><em>“The Pan-Mass Challenge is a Massachusetts-based bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. Always held the first weekend in August, the PMC raises funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research. Each summer, thousands of riders and volunteers from 43 states and 12 countries participate in the PMC, all with a common goal: to find a cure for cancer.</em></p>
<p><em>100 percent of all rider-raised funds go directly to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s single largest supporter and is 62 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Since 1980, the PMC has raised $972 million for Dana-Farber.”</em></p>
<p>The Sudbury PMC Kids Bike Ride empowers young participants to contribute to a meaningful cause while enjoying a fun activity. By offering multiple course options, every child will have the opportunity to participate and make a difference - regardless of age or ability. Each ride distance is carefully planned to be safe and enjoyable, with designated routes through historic Sudbury neighborhoods that are well-marked and closely monitored by volunteers. For the youngest participants, the tot lot loop provides a secure environment where kids can ride in a contained area - strollers, scooters, tricycles are ALL welcome!</p>
<p>Beyond the joy of bike riding, the Sudbury PMC Kids Bike Ride serves as a powerful educational experience for children, teaching them about the impact of collective efforts in fighting cancer. As they pedal for a purpose, they learn about empathy, community involvement, and the importance of supporting breakthroughs in treatment and cures at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This event not only raises crucial funds for cancer research but also instills valuable life lessons in the young riders; collectively we all pedal towards a more cancer-free future. As with all PMC rides, every penny donated goes directly to cancer treatment and research at Dana-Farber.</p>
