Fall Concert featuring Belmont Community Orchestra & Belmont Community Band

Fall Concert featuring Belmont Community Orchestra & Belmont Community Band

All are welcome to enjoy a fun night of concert band and orchestral music led by Belmont Community Band Conductor John McLellan and Belmont Community Orchestra Conductor Marshunda Smith. Final selections will be announced at the concert.

This event is free and open to the public. Come cheer on your friends and neighbors!

The Belmont Community Orchestra will perform the following selections:

  • Norman Dello Joio’s Choreography: Three Dances for String Orchestra, by the Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer
  • Richard Meyers’ Incantations
  • Adoration by Florence Price, the first Black woman composer to have a symphony performed by a major American orchestra, heard here in a version for strings
  • Loretta Lazaris’s School-Time Suite, written so that every player in the room has a complete line of their own

Following the orchestra, join the Belmont Community Band for some concert band favorites! Selections will be announced at the concert, with some repertoire exploring America’s great landscapes and seasons.

The Belmont Community Band and Belmont Community Orchestra are presented in collaboration with Belmont's POMS (Parents of Music Students). Special thank you to fall concert sponsor Juliet Jenkins, Realtor with Leading Edge.
