Belmont Gay Straight Alliance Committee will be sponsoring a table at the rescheduled Town Day on May 31st to celebrate the 10th anniversary of same-sex marriage in Massachusetts. Beginning in 2004, the group has cosponsored the popular Freedom to Marry Ice Cream Social on May 17th with other local organizations. As it conflicted with Town Day this year, the celebration will be held at a table at Town Day.
Community members and visitors to Belmont are welcome to stop by to answer trivia questions on gay marriage and enter a drawing for a gift certificate from one of a dozen local businesses that have so generously donated to the event, including Belmont Studio Cinema, Ben Franklin's, A Chocolate Dream, Craft Beer Cellar, Moozy's, Patou Thai, Quebrada's, Seta's Cafe, Shangri-La Restaurant, Sofra's Bakery and Cafe, The Spirited Gourmet, Vicki Lee's. Dunkin' Donuts has donated munchkins for the occasion as well.
Look for the rainbow colors and stop by!
