CitySide Subaru Delivers Donation to the National Brain Tumor Society as Part of the 2016 Subaru Share the Love® Event
Local dealership delivers critical support to local nonprofit.

BELMONT, MA – Subaru of America, Inc. (“SOA”) and CitySide Subaru recently presented a check for $11,593 to the National Brain Tumor Society. National Brain Tumor Society, the largest nonprofit in the country dedicated to curing brain tumors and brain cancer, is based in Newton, Massachusetts and was a beneficiary in the 2016 Subaru Share the Love event.
From November 17, 2016 to January 3, 2017, customers who purchased or leased a new Subaru vehicle could select from a list of charities to receive a donation of $250 from SOA. This year, for the first time throughout the life of the program, there was no cap on the total donation from Subaru of America to its Share the Love charitable partners.
For 2016, SOA selected the four national charities: ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals On Wheels America® and National Park Foundation. Subaru retailers could also elect to add a local charity and CitySide Subaru selected the National Brain Tumor Society as its “hometown charity.”
The check for $11,593 was presented to the National Brain Tumor Society by Nathan White, General Manager of CitySide Subaru and Joe Altavilla, District Sales Manager of Subaru New England.
“National Brain Tumor Society, CitySide Subaru, and Subaru of America share the same commitment and dedication to improving the lives of others, and we are very grateful to be the beneficiaries of CitySide’s local ‘Share the Love’ charitable efforts,” said Samantha Masterson, Chief Advancement Officer at the National Brain Tumor Society. “We believe that brain tumor patients will benefit from this generous donation through increased funding for groundbreaking research and public policy results that will improve the lives of people across the brain tumor community.”
By the end of this year’s event, Subaru hopes to reach a grand total of nearly $90 million donated since the creation of Share the Love.
