Condolences to Jackie: Tonight's Book in Author's Lecture Series

Author Ellen Fitzgerald's speaks at 7:30 p.m. at Belmont Public Library about her book on people's letters to Mrs. Kennedy that reveals how the president's assassination affected the nation.

For nearly 50 years, more than 1.5 millions condolence letters sent to Jacqueline Kennedy on the assassination of President Kennedy were largely forgotten and untouched.

It took UNH Historian Ellen Fitzpatrick to review and then use 250 of the letters to represent how the death of John F. Kennedy impacted the nation and its people in her book, "Letters to Jackie, Condolences from a Grieving Nation."

Fitzpatrick will discuss her book as part of the 's Author Series at 7:30 p.m. in the Assembly Room of .
