Court Debates Whether Search Warrant Needed if Animals May be in Danger

Massachusetts' Supreme Judicial Court, hearing the case of the Commonwealth vs. Duncan, in which a Lynn woman is accused of three counts of cruelty, heard arguments on Tuesday on whether police need a search warrant if they suspect animals are in danger, reported the Boston Globe. 

The defense in the case challenged that police had no right to enter the property without a warrant, said the Globe.
