Don't Park In The Crosswalks, Belmont Police Say
BPD issued a warning to illegal parkers amid complaints about traffic around Belmont schools.
BELMONT, MA – The Belmont Police Department issued a parking warning Friday amid complaints of traffic congestion near Belmont schools. Police shared an image of a van illegally parked, with its rear bumper overlapping the crosswalk near Wellington Elementary School, and said many such cases prompt complaints throughout the school year.
Illegal parking can lead to additional traffic problems and safety hazards for motorists and pedestrians. Police ask that parents park in a legal spot, even if it is further from the school.
