On Saturday 4/9/2011 the Belmont Auxiliary Police and the Governors Auto Theft Strike Force will hold an auto etching event at the Belmont Dept. of Public Works Yard at 37 C Street. The cost is $10 (cash only) and takes about 10 minutes. Your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is etched in all the windows of the vehicle using a computer generated stencil and a mild acid. This provides a visible theft deterrent and may be good for a discount on your auto insurance. You must bring a a valid drivers license and a valid vehicle registration.
