
The Belmont Dramatic Club's Fall 2010 Production will be "The Heiress" - A drama by Ruth and Augustus Goetz

Synopsis of Play:
"The Heiress" focuses on Catherine, an aristocratic young woman living under the scrutiny of her father, a doctor, who has never shown her either tenderness or attention. So, when a penniless suitor, Morris, comes along and claims to love her, she eagerly returns his affections. However, Dr. Sloper believes that Morris could only be after her vast estate, and does everything in his power to destroy the relationship. (Olivia de Haviland received the Best Actress Oscar in 1949 for her portrayal of Catherine in this poignant period romance.)
If you loved William Wyler's 1949 Hollywood movie with Olivia de Havilland, Montgomery Clift, and Sir Ralph Richardson, don't miss this stage version it was based on!
