Belmont World Film presents JIMMY TINGLE'S AMERICAN DREAM: LIVE AND ON STAGE

Belmont World Film presents Jimmy Tingle’s American Dream-Live and On Stage featuring a screening of Tingle’s documentary Jimmy Tingle's American Dream followed by a Q&A and a live performance of Jimmy Tingle for President: The Funniest Campaign in History on Monday, October 15, at 7:30 PM at the Studio Cinema, Belmont (376 Trapelo Road). The event is held in conjunction with “One Book One Belmont,” a town-wide program sponsored by the Belmont Public Library that invites residents to simultaneously read The Leftovers by Belmont resident and renowned author Tom Perotta, who will speak about his book the following Monday, October 22.

The film features comedy, commentary and conversation with some of America’s most iconic personalities and social critics, as well as family, friends and total strangers as they speak up and speak out about the American Dream. Tingle, a nationally known comedian, filmmaker and for commentator for 60 Minutes II, weaves his stand-up comedy career into the fabric of the American Dream, while introducing the audience toeveryone from Oscar winners and comedians to historians and the homeless—including Robert Altman, Bobcat Goldthwaite, Howard Zinn, Mort Sahl, Janeane Garafalo, Sean Hannity, Lewis Black, Al Franken, Robert Reich, Ed Schultz, Colin Quinn, Barry Crimmins, and Jimmy's mother, Frances— as he aspires to make us laugh, to make us think, and encourages us to dream. It also features music by Willie Nelson, The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones, The Neighborhoods, and Jimmy Tingle on harmonica.

In Jimmy Tingle for President: The Funniest Campaign in History Tingle constructs another hilarious and thought provoking one-man show based on his 2012 run for the presidency. As the founder of the "Humor for Humanity" party, Tingle runs on his comedic record and his campaign underlines his passion for and creative thinking on every issue the next president must grapple with—from alternative energy to immigration to jobs and the national debt.
