Bakers, start your ovens!
It's time for the fifth annual My Favorite Apple Dessert Contest Sponsored by the Belmont Farmers Market. It will be held on October 7, 2010. Download the entry form (pdf), get some apples and get to work.A panel of independent judges will taste and judge entries based upon the criteria of taste, appearance, and creativity. Awards will be given to the top entries in four categories: primary school (to Grade 4); Middle School (Grades 5 through 8); High School (Grades 9 through 12), and Adult, with an additional award for the overall best dessert entry.Awards include gift certificates to local businesses and the BFM, as well as recognition in the local media. If you are willing, your recipe will be featured in a future issue of our newsletter and/or our Web site.
