Introduction to Shorebirds Field Trip 2 (South Beach, Chatam)

Shorebirds are spectacular and elegant. No other birds are so visible, yet can be confusing for so many. Learn how to identify shorebirds in an evening slide and video lecture. Then make it real by taking one or both field trips. The first field trip will be to Plum Island and Newburyport, with minimal walking. The second will be to South Beach, Chatham.

Instructions and Directions: No facilities are available on the beach. Be prepared for shallow wading and walking in the sand for several miles. Please bring an additional $15 for round-trip ferry. Bring water, sun screen, binoculars, lunch, and a field guide.
