On December 2-4, ACT teens will perform Tom Stoppard’s play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Stoppard’s widely popular and critically praised play tells the often hilarious story of two seemingly unimportant characters from Shakespeare’s Hamlet who get swept up in events they don’t understand and can’t control. The title references one of the final lines from Hamlet and foreshadows the fate of the title characters who attempt to understand their own fates in the company of characters from Hamlet and a traveling troupe of tragedians. Belmont resident Kate Miller will perform as the leader of the tragedians, a character known only as “Player.” Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead will be performed at the Arlington Center for the Arts which is located at 41 Foster Street in Arlington. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings, December 2nd and 3rd at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoon, December 4 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door or online at http://act.arlington.ma.us/.
