Join Sustainable Belmont for a special free event at Mass Audubon's Habitat
Sustainable Belmont invites you to any or all of the following, thanks to Mass Audubon Habitat Director Roger Wrubel
5:00 PM – walk to the new sheep and goat meadow where the animals’ dietary habits restrain oriental bittersweet and poison ivy. Audubon purchased this 2.6 acre Weeks Meadow parcel in June 2010. It is the newest and easternmost segment of the Western Greenway. Heavy rain cancels this one segment of he event.

6 PM - pot luck picnic. Bring your own beverages, picnic blanket, place settings, and a dish to share. Indoors at Habitat in case of rain.
7 PM - presentation on the Western Greenway by Belmont's Citizen of the Decade Roger Wrubel. The Greenway is a six-mile ring of connected green space that encompasses parts of Belmont, Waltham, and Lexington. New trails have been added this year, among which is Lot 1 on the northwest border in Lexington. Easy access for Belmont residents is at the Rock Meadow parking lot on Mill Street.
