In celebration of its 80 year, the Belmont Garden Club is presenting a standard flower show "Summertime, Summertime!!" at St. Joseph's Parish Center, 130 Common Street, Belmont (corner of Common & School Streets), handicap accessible. Come see gorgeous floral arrangements and pristine horticultural specimens. There will be three show divisions: floral design, horticulture, and educational exhibits. In the floral design division there will be 24 entries in six categories including one on breakfast tray set-ups for Father's Day! There will be several hundred entries in the horticultural division including houseplants, landscape fauna, and a challenge section on window boxes.
The educational exhibits featured will be the Woodland Garden at the library, Community Planting (memorial spaces, parks & traffic deltas), Garden Therapy at the Belmont Manor nursing home, and "Belmont in Bloom" the Belmont Garden Club's celebration of the Town of Belmont's sesquicentennial. There is something of interest for everyone! This is a judged show, so come and see if you agree with the judges' decisions on the blue ribbon winners. Get ideas for your own home and garden and learn about Belmont Garden Club's many community outreach programs. Children are welcome, but no strollers please. This is a free program whose purpose is to educate, inform, and entertain the public.
