The 6th Annual Chenery Star Party, which will be held on Feb. 16 in the school's gym and cafeteria, is a special astronomy night for 6th graders led by 6th grade teacher Ben Ligon.
Last year more than 200 6th graders and their parents enjoyed learning about the universe. The cafeteria will have separate concurrent presentations and if it's not cloudy, telescopes will be set up outside so the students can enjoy the fabulous celestial viewing.
This year presentations will be made by ATMOB (amateur Telescope Makers of Boston), an astrophysicist from Brandeis, the Director of the Clay Observatory and presentations in the FBE’s inflatable planetarium led by Belmont High School teacher Erik Berg.
