The Foundation for Belmont Education is proud to partner with Dr. Steven Schlozman, author of the new novel, The Zombie Autopsies, for an interactive workshop and screening of Night of the Living Dead. Dr. Schlozman is a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a staff psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital and his workshops explore the neuroscience of zombies. He has received wide acclaim for his novel which explores a medically plausible scenario of a zombie infection. His past workshops have received national and international coverage by CNN, USA Today, NPR and local Boston newspapers. Dr. Schlozman is a parent of two children in the Belmont Public Schools and is excited to present this workshop in support of the FBE. The FBE is a volunteer organization that raises funds for programs throughout the Belmont Public School System. The Foundation has been able to support educational programs and large-scale projects that would not otherwise have been funded through the school budget. Last year, the Foundation awarded over $200,000 in grants to the Belmont Public Schools. Since our founding in 1993, we have awarded more than $2 million in the form of Learning Excellence Grants, Professional Development support, and Special Initiatives.
