Ford Fiesta Goes Airborne in Route 2 Crash
The Fiesta landed upside down on Pleasant Street and then collided with another car.

A 77-year-old Cambridge man driving a 2015 Ford Fiesta left the roadway of Route 2 East at about 6:54 p.m. Friday at Exit 59 on the Arlington/Belmont line, according to Massachusetts State Police.
According to a preliminary investigation, the man drove up an embankment, crashed through a guardrail and then went airborne, landing upside down on Pleasant Street, where he struck a 1995 Honda Civic driven by a 20-year-old Winchester woman.

The man sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. The woman suffered what appeared to be minor injuries and was transported to Winchester Hospital, police said.
Trooper James Ackerley is investigating the cause of the crash, and any witnesses are asked to contact him at 617-727-4812.
