Girls' Lacrosse Playoffs Start at Home Tuesday
Despite late season losses, Marauders' ranked 5th in North Div. 2

Despite the information on the MIAA tournament page, Belmont High School Girls' Lacrosse will be playing the first round of the playoffs at home vs Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School on Tuesday, May 29 at 3 p.m. at Harris Field.
The fifth-seeded Marauders will take on the 12-ranked Generals (9-6-0) in Belmont, according the James Davis, Belmont's athletic director.
This clarification counters the information on the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association web site that indicates the game will be held in Marblehead on Tuesday.

"The game is being played here," said Davis Thursday night.
Belmont, lead by retiring head coach Jessica Smith, has a 10-5-1 record, losing three of their final four games. Smith – who will continue leading the school's successful field hockey team in the fall – had worried that her team's late season drop off in play would hurt their chances when the playoff brackets were announced Thursday and thus jeopardize their opportunity to host a first-round game.
