Girls' Tennis Ends Season in Quarterfinals

Barker and Kim named Middlesex League All-Stars.

After upsetting Lynn Classical in the opening round, 4-1, the Belmont High School Girls' Tennis ended their season in the quarterfinals of the MIAA Division II North tournament Wednesday to Marblehead. While the team score was 1-4, two losses were very close with the second doubles team of Aleek Artinian and Alexa Analetto losing in a third set and second singles player, Hannah Harris, losing in a tiebreak, 4-6, 6-7 (7-9).

The team was missing two varsity players, so freshman Haley Sawyer stepped up for the team to play third singles and junior Enchi Chang stepped into fill a doubles slot.

The one win from Annie Hang was a grinding three set match, 6-2, 4-6, 4-6.  Annie started the season at the number two singles position and continued to elevate her game as the season went on, eventually earning the number one position. She had an incredible season.
