ISABELLE LUONGO OF BELMONT LIGHTS UP THE STAGE IN BOSTON CHILDREN'S THEATRE'S PRODUCTION OF 'THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE'

The roaring 20’s come to life in Boston Children’s Theatre (BCT) exuberant production of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE! Featuring the talents of 15-year old Isabelle Luongo of Belmont, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE runs August 6 – 9 at Shore Country Day School in Beverly, MA.

Cast in the role of ‘Cora,’ an aspiring actress, Isabelle was most recently seen in BCT’s critically acclaimed production of The Diary of Anne Frank. Isabelle also appeared in BCT’s production of Fame, and has performed in Grease: School Version with Watertown Children’s Theatre and in Once Upon a Mattress and Once On This Island at Chenery Middle School. A student at Belmont High School, Isabelle has been seen in her school productions of Anything Goes, Twelfth Night, #Rager, and Legally Blonde.

Based on the zany new musical that took Broadway by storm, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE is a high-spirited musical romp that will have audiences dancing the Charleston in the aisles! Based in New York City in 1922, young Millie Dillmount has just moved to the big city in search of a new life for herself. It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz – in a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever. Directed by Rory Pelsue, with choreography by Nicole Soriano and Musical Direction by Justin Brown, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE has a book by Richard Henry Morris and Dick Scanlan, new music by Jeanine Tesori, and new lyrics by Dick Scanlan.

Performances of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE are Thursday, August 6 at 7:30 pm, Saturday, August 8 at 8 pm and Sunday, August 9 at 2 pm.
