Letter to the Editor: Stratford Supports Dave Rogers

To the editor:

I hope that other Belmont voters in the upcoming Democratic primary will join me in supporting Dave Rogers for State Representative.

Of the candidates in the Democratic field, Dave has by far the greatest breadth and depth of experience. He has worked in the private sector in biotechnology and clean energy as well as the public sector at both the state and federal levels.

Dave also has an impressive and hard-won command of the issues. His website, rogers4rep.com, shows the depth and nuance he brings to his views on improving the economy, strengthening education and safeguarding the environment. In an era of platitudes and sound bites, he is thoughtful and articulate on the things that matter to Belmont and the House district.

One additional thing that endears Dave to me is the fact that he works extremely hard. I didn’t know Dave when he began campaigning, but I have talked with him on several occasions, including numerous public events and two separate door-to-door visits. At each instance, he engaged me in a substantive, lengthy conversation – and was as interested in hearing about what mattered to me as he was in telling me why he wants to be our next State Representative. 

Dave is a sincere, intelligent, energetic, and highly accomplished person. Dave would be a worthy successor to Will Brownsberger as Belmont’s representative in the state House of Representatives.

Please join me in voting for Dave Rogers in the Democratic primary on Thursday, Sept. 6.
