Belmont police are reminding residents to lock their cars at all times.

BELMONT, MA — A string of car break-ins prompted the Belmont Police Department to remind residents to lock their cars at all times and take valuable items out after parking. The department said it has taken over 10 reports of break-ins over the past week.

The department did not specify where in town the reports were coming from but highlighted that all of the cars in each case were left unlocked.

"NEVER leave valuables inside your cars," the department wrote in a tweet.
