Police Seeking Sexual Assault Suspect

The man, whose likeness is sketched below, allegedly sexually assaulted a woman Sunday in broad daylight near Alewife.

Police are seeking a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in broad daylight Sunday afternoon in the wooded area near the Route 2 underpass, behind the Alewife Brook Reservation near the Arlington-Cambridge line.

The alleged attack took place between 2-3 p.m., according to police.

“We are asking anyone who may have heard or seen anything to please come forward and assist police in capturing this dangerous felon,” Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan said in a statement.

The above sketch of the suspect by Lincoln Police Officer Ian Spencer is believed to be a “very good likeness” of the suspect, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, about 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds with black braided hair and brown eyes. He was wearing black boots, black corduroy pants with a red canvas belt, a dark blue jacket with a gray plaid pullover that stuck out from under his jacket and a blue beanie hat that had snowflakes on it, police said.
