Registration Begins for Flash Film Festival
State-wide event hosted by Belmont Media Center; festival films to be shown at Studio Cinema.

The Massachusetts Flash Film Festival is your chance to be a filmmaker and compete for a $500 cash prize. The only catch is that everything and we mean EVERYTHING must be done within a 72 hour period.
The festival is open to all so start putting your team together NOW! You can download General Rules and Informationhere. Registration is open. Space is limited. Films will be screened in a real movie theater and judged by members of the film and video industry.

Twenty production teams will work for 72 hours to write, shoot, edit and deliver a 4-7 minute short film. Each team will be given a genre that thier film must fit into, as well as a character, prop and line of dialogue that must be in the film (these will be the same for all teams).
At least one member of each registered team MUST attend the Kick-off event at the Belmont Media Center (BMC) on Thursday September 22 to draw genres and to receive the required elements of character, prop and line of dialogue. Each team also turns in their signed “Team Leader Agreement form.” at this time.

Teams then have 72 hours (until 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25) to write, shoot, edit and deliver back to BMC a 4-7 minute fictional narrative film in the genre that they drew at the kick-off and including all the required elements
All films will be screened on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Belmont Studio Cinema. Only films that arrive “on-time” will be eligible for judging. Viewer’s choice ballots will be distributed to all who attend the screening to vote for their favorite. Viewer’s choice winners will also be recognized. All films will be aired on BMC channels and on the web. More details about the screening will be coming soon so check back here and on the Facebook page often.

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN untill Friday Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. or until all slots are filled. There are slots for 20 teams. After those are filled, a wait list will be created. Teams will be able to register online and send in a check via mail beginning Aug. 1. Belmont Media Center MUST recieve entry fee by Friday Sept. 16 in order to confirm your slot. Registration fees will be $30 for Non-Professional Teams and $50 for Professional Teams.
