Springwell Celebrates The 2021 Subaru Share the Love Event
Springwell Celebrates Share the Love with a Facebook Live presentation: Increasing your Strength through Nutrition as as you age.

“Meals on Wheels America is proud to partner with Subaru of America for the 14th consecutive year to enable more seniors to live with independence and dignity,” said Ellie Hollander, President and CEO, Meals on Wheels America. “Since 2008, the Subaru Share the Love Event has helped deliver more than 2.5 million meals and friendly visits to vulnerable seniors nationwide. We’re enormously grateful to Subaru and its retailers for their long-standing commitment to Meals on Wheels and the millions of seniors who depend on it for nourishment and companionship.”
As a member of Meals on Wheels America, Springwell will receive a share of the donations from Subaru vehicles sold at participating Subaru Retailers. Locally, CitySide Subaru of Belmont supports Springwell in their efforts to serve older adults in our community.
Many seniors in our community are struggling to stay independent and healthy. To help alleviate these challenges, Springwell provides over 1000 nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks daily to the seniors in Belmont, Brookline, Needham, Newton, Watertown, Wellesley, and Weston. This vital support keeps seniors in their own homes, where they want to be.

As part of Springwell’s participation in Share the Love, Dalia Cohen, Director of Nutrition at Springwell will present “Increasing Your Strength” live on Facebook on December 15, 2021, at 11:00 AM. She will be talking about strength and muscle mass, the importance of adequate protein intake and the positive effects of exercise. All are welcome to attend here.
Not everyone is in the market to purchase a new car, but if you are, look into the Subaru Share the Love Event to learn more. If you’re not shopping for a new vehicle, you can still help by spreading the word to family and friends about the event. You can also help by spreading the word that Springwell needs and is hiring more Home Delivered Meals Drivers. It is an ideal part time job for many retirees, adults who only want to work during their children’s school hours and college students who don’t have classes until mid to late afternoon. And, as always, if you know of an older adult over the age of 60 in need of nutrition support through the provision of a daily nutritious lunch, please call Springwell at 617-926-4100.
