These Are the 'Most Dangerous' Cities in Massachusetts

Chelsea is the “most dangerous” city in Massachusetts, according to a new report.

Law Street, which covers law and public policy, recently released its “America’s Safest and Most Dangerous States 2014” report, which also features the “most dangerous” municipalities by state.

Belmont came in at No. 62 on the list of 72 municipalities in Massachusetts – the list only includes cities and towns with more than 25,000 residents.

Law Street compiled the list on a variety of crime statistics -- the number of violet crimes, murders, forcible rapes, robberies and aggravated assaults compared to the population.

The data was taken from the FBI’s most recent Uniform Crime Report.

Massachusetts is the 20th “most dangerous” state, according to the report.
