Train Strikes Man In Belmont

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries, transit authorities said.

BELMONT, MA — A man sustained life-threatening injuries when struck by an MBTA Commuter Rail train Thursday night near Brighton Street. The man is believed to be in his 60s, Transit Police said.

Transit Police and Belmont emergency responders reported to to the scene shortly after 9:10 p.m. after a report of someone struck by the train. The victim was struck by a Fitchburg-bound train.

Foul play is not suspected.
