Update on Waltham Market Basket's Opening

The new Waltham Market Basket at 1265 Main St. is expected to open before the end of the year, optimistically in early December, Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy said in a Thursday email.

The Marshalls at the old Polaroid site is expected to open at the beginning of October and Jake n Joes Sports Grille should open soon as well, she said.

A Starbucks representative has said the new coffee shop at the site should open before the peak of the holiday season.

In August, after taking back control of Market Basket, Arthur T. Demoulas said he would get new, unopened stores, such as the one in Waltham, “back on track.”
