Arts Fest This Weekend Marks Start Of Beverly Main Streets Transition
Beverly Main Streets said this year's Fall Fest is canceled as the organization transforms into an all-volunteer model.

BEVERLY, MA — The arrival of more than 150 artist vendors in Beverly for this year's Art sFest on Cabot Street could be marking a bit of an end of an era for Beverly Main Streets as it transitions to an all-volunteer operation.
Beverly Main Streets said it is canceling this year's Fall Fest on Sept. 19, while all other traditional events are in a to-be-determined status.
"This pause is a deliberate, positive step," Beverly Main Streets Board of Directors said. "It frees us from rigid, legacy event structures and allows our new, volunteer-led committees to evaluate and design a schedule that truly aligns with what current businesses and residents want."

Beverly Main Streets said the transition is, in part, to ensure that 100 percent of all financial support goes directly into the community.
"By eliminating operational salaries, we become a leaner, more nimble organization," the Board said. "Every single dollar raised will now fund initiatives that drive economic vitality and tourism directly into downtown Beverly.

The Board of Directors said the move is a "victory for local grassroots advocacy" that will require continued community support from elected officials, business owners and leaders, and residents.
"We are eliminating administrative friction and unlocking pure volunteer energy," the Board said. "We need our leadership and city partners to help us recruit passionate community voices, identify evolving downtown needs, and help us build a highly adaptive, modern framework for Beverly's economic future."
