• Salem, Beverly To Hold Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day (patch.com) — Beverly residents can safely drop off hazardous household waste at Salem High School on Sept. 12, from 8 a.m. to noon, for $30 per car with proof of residency. Items like motor oil, pesticides, car batteries, propane cylinders and oil-based paint are accepted, while latex paint is not. Non-residents are limited to the final hour and must check separate pricing.
