Beverly Drug Bust Nabs 2 Salem Men

Heroin, crack cocaine, and cash were allegedly found after undercover work.

A joint investigation by Beverly and Salem police resulted in a drug bust and the arrest of two Salem men, Beverly Police said Saturday.

Officers made undercover buys throughout Beverly before arresting the two men on Elliot Street. Police recovered more than seven grams of crack cocaine, more than 14 grams of heroin, and a "sizable amount of currency."

Michael J. Sanchez, 21, of Dow Street in Salem was arrested on charges of distribution of Class B (cocaine), distribution of Class A (heroin), possession with intent to distribute Class A (heroin), conspiracy to violate drug laws, and violation of the controlled substance act with 100 feet of a public park.

Jeffrey A. Deleon, 28, of Harbor Street in Salem on charges of distribution of Class B (cocaine), distribution of Class A (heroin), possession with intent to distribute Class A (heroin), conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Both men are expected to be arraigned early next week in Salem District Court.
