Beverly Looking For Manager For Secret School Safety Project
City Council approved funding for the $3.8 million project last month.

BEVERLY, MA -- Beverly officials are still offering few details on a $3.8 million school safety plan, but a job listing offered some clues. The city this month started looking for a project manager to oversee construction of "first-class, publicly constructed security upgrades." The request for proposals stipulates that applicants sign a confidentiality agreement.
"They're sensitive security measures, that's the rationale," Beverly Mayor Mike Cahill told the Salem News, which first reported this story. "We all take seriously our responsibilities, and our responsibilities include following the public disclosure law and also keeping our kids and teachers safe. We believe that we are squarely within the law and meeting both responsibilities.
