Beverly Medication Disposal Day Set For This Weekend

Residents can drop off unused and expired medications at the Beverly Police Station.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly residents are encouraged to drop off unused and expired medications at the police station this weekend in coordination with National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Residents can drop off the medications for proper disposal at the police station on Saturday at 175 Elliot Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The day is part of a national effort to keep prescription drugs out of the wrong hands where they can be ingested by young people or sold illicitly. Proper disposal is advised because simply throwing these drugs away or flushing them down a toilet could result in them leaking into groundwater supplies.
