Few Details On 'Stay In Place' Order' At Beverly Middle School
Police say the order follows an "off-campus incident."

BEVERLY, MA -- Students at the Briscoe Middle School in Beverly were ordered to stay in place following an "off-campus incident." The stay in place order was lifted at 3:23 pm, according to scanner reports. But police offered few details on why the order was needed in the first place
In a Twitter post after the order was lifted, Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur said an "off-campus investigation is underway not involving any Beverly students." Other details were not immediately available.
The order delayed dismissal at the school Thursday. Some parents expressed frustration on social media that they had not received a reverse-911 call alerting them about the incident and only found out about it through news reports or when they went to pick their kids up at school.
