Beverly School Bus Driver Could Face Charges
Police say they may file charges against the driver after a 5-year-old was left alone on the bus for several hours Friday.

BEVERLY, MA -- A kindergartners at Cove School in Beverly who was left on a school bus for several hours Friday and then injured when he tried to walk home is now afraid to take the bus to school. And the driver of that bus could be facing charges. Beverly Police are considering filing charges against David Boutros, 71, of Bradford who, according to a police report, "knowingly disregarded protocols and never checked the bus for any students" after his routes on Friday.
"It was awful," Redona Hyso told the Salem News, which first reported this story. "My son could have died." Her son was taken to the hospital with a bruise on his knee, which he sustained after running into a car when he tried to walk home Friday. Beverly Police are discussing the possibility of bringing charges against Boutros with the Essex County District Attorney's office.
