Beverly Teen Bicyclist Struck By Car
The boy, who wasn't wearing a helmet, has been hospitalized with a head injury.

BEVERLY, MA — A teenager was hospitalized Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle on West Street. The 16-year-old, whose identity is being withheld, was riding a bicycle at the time, Beverly Police said. The extent of the boy's injuries were unknown as of 2:30 a.m. Sunday. He was not wearing his helmet at the time and suffered a head injury, police said.
The incident took place around 7:20 p.m. Saturday. An investigation indicates the boy was biking out of a driveway into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
No citations were issued, and it was determined by police the driver was not speeding.

Police initially called in a Medflight, but that request was called off. The teen was transported to Beverly Hospital, then to a Boston hospital.
