BEVERLY, MA — Big Baby is hoping to bring big laughs to the new Off Cabot comedy theater in Beverly.
Glen "Big Baby" Davis, the former Boston Celtics forward who was a member of the 2008 NBA championship team, is set to play the new Wallis Street collaboration between the Cabot Street Cinema Theater and John Tobin Presents on April 7.

Davis gave a hint about his comedy during Sunday's showdown against the Brooklyn Nets when he showed up wearing a "Respect The Logo" T-shirt aimed at tweaking former Celtics guard Kyrie Irving, who gave the center court leprechaun a stomp during last year's playoff series.
The 150-seat venue is set to kick off an initial 15-date run with a grand opening on March 19 featuring the comedy of Laura Severse, Corey Rodrigues and Tony V.

"We are so excited to embark on this journey with you, our beloved customers and comedy fans," the venue said in announcing the first shows. "We're opening the club the only way we know-how, with some of the greatest comics Greater Boston has ever seen.
"We think people could use some laughs during the pandemic and are tremendously excited to bring more comedy and other exciting events to Beverly."
The former The Grand Salon location was a blues club called 80 Wallis before pandemic-related issues forced the closure of the live music venue.
The Cabot helped upgrade the performance room with a new sound and lighting system, while Tobin — a former Beverly City Councilor — will present and operate the shows.
