Investigators Identify Man Found On Beverly Beach

BEVERLY, MA -- A dog walker found a body just off the shore of Dane Street Beach in Beverly Monday morning. According to scanner reports, the body was in the water and Beverly Police roped off the area to begin recovery efforts. They are investigating the scene with the Essex County District Attorney's office, but foul play is not suspected. The Beverly Fire Department dive team was also called to the scene, which is near Lothrop Street.

The body of the 19-year-old Amos Burkhart of Beverly was spotted at 5:15 am. The district attorney's office said Monday that an autopsy will be performed and would not disclose the cause of death.
