Child Allegedly Struck by Beverly Driver With Revoked License

The Beverly man was arrested on Sunday and was charged with driving with a license revoked for being a habitual traffic offender.

PEABODY, MA - A Beverly man with a revoked license was arrested on Sunday after allegedly hitting a child walking on Union Street in Peabody with his car.

Police responded to a report of a child who had been hit by a car at Union and Tremont Street a little after 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Police arrested the driver of the car, Ronnie L. Alford Jr., 45, of 5 Juniper Valley Court in Beverly and charged him with operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked as a habitual traffic offender.

The child was transported to Salem Hospital for an evaluation.
