Beverly Farms’ Greg Meahl Recognized for Volunteer Leadership with $5,000 Donation to Glen Urquhart

Beverly, MA, May 11, 2026 - Glen Urquhart School has received a $5,000 donation from the MassMutual Foundation as part of the Foundation’s national Community Service Award (CSA) program. GUS is one of thirty-two organizations to receive an award. The MassMutual Foundation made the donation in honor of the volunteer efforts of Greg Meahl, a trustee of the school and financial professional affiliated with Baystate Financial in Wakefield.  

“For nearly three decades, MassMutual’s Community Service Awards program has recognized the extraordinary ways our affiliated financial professionals serve their communities,” said Dennis Duquette, Head of Community Responsibility and President of the MassMutual Foundation. “As we celebrate MassMutual’s 175th anniversary this year, we’re proud to continue this legacy by supporting financial professionals like Greg, whose leadership and service have helped create lasting impact in their community.” 

Glen Urquhart School (GUS) is an independent PreK–8 school located in Beverly Farms, MA. Through experiential and thematic learning, GUS cultivates curious, confident, respectful, and kind students who are prepared – and inspired – to make a difference in the world.

“Greg has been a thoughtful and dedicated member of the GUS community, generously sharing his time, expertise, and leadership,” said Gretchen Forsyth, Head of School. “He came to GUS not through family ties, but through a genuine belief in the work happening here and a commitment to strengthening young people and families on the North Shore. This gift from the MassMutual Foundation is a meaningful investment in our students, faculty, and the future of our school, and we are deeply grateful for Greg’s commitment to GUS.”

Meahl has been affiliated with Baystate Financial for 16 years and has served on the GUS board of trustees since 2022, where he has chaired the Advancement Committee and dedicated countless hours to help the school grow and flourish. His longstanding commitment to service, including his previous work on the board of the Beverly YMCA, reflects that deep belief in investing in and caring for one’s neighbors.
