Gang Member Arrested On Drug Distribution Charges: Beverly Police

Detectives recovered a plastic tube containing about $1,100.00 worth of heroin and cocaine, $500 cash and 2 cell phones, police said.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Police say they arrested a man they suspect of being involved in a gang on drug charges after a lengthy investigation, the department announced Tuesday.

"Strong work last night keeping the City safe," posted Chief John LeLacheur Tuesday evening on Twitter.

Detectives from the Beverly Police Drug Control Unit arrested Ruben Dario Delorbe 25, of Allerton Street in Lynn and charged him with possession of drugs with intent to distribute Class A Heroin and Class B Cocaine, a window tint violation, and not having his license in possession.

On Monday, police detectives saw what they suspected was a drug transaction on County Way. The details of what happened next are unclear but detectives recovered a plastic tube which contained approximately $1,100.00 worth of heroin and cocaine, and $500 cash and two cell-phones, according to police.

The arrest was the result of a lengthy investigation into suspected drug activity on County Way in the Ryal Side section of the city, police said.
