Memorial Day In Beverly: What You Need To Know
Patch has all the details on Memorial Day Ceremonies, plus what's open and closed on the May 28th holiday.

BEVERLY, MA -- Monday, May 28, is Memorial Day, and the city will mark the weekend with two parades and a barbecue. On Sunday at 11 am, there will be a ceremony at Independence Park on Lothrop Street, followed by a cookout at the American Legion Herman A. Spear Post.
On Monday, the Beverly Farms Memorial Day Parade will begin at 9:30 am, which will be followed by a Howitzer Salute on West Beach. The city's parade starts at 2 pm at the Spears Post and continues for two miles through downtown.

What's Open And Closed On Memorial Day
The holiday also means government offices and some businesses will be closed. Before you head out, check our list of what's open and closed on the holiday
- Retail stores: Open at owner's discretion
- Subway, buses: Sunday schedule.
- Supermarkets: Open
- Convenience stores: Open
- Bars: Open
- Banks: Closed
- Basically anything to do with municipal government: Closed
- Libraries, see above: Closed
- Schools: Closed
- Mail: Express delivery only
- Trash/recycling collection: Delayed one day. Monday pickup on Tuesday, Tuesday pickup on Wednesday, etc., ending with Friday pickup on Saturday.
