Memorial Day In Beverly: What You Need To Know

Patch has all the details on Memorial Day Ceremonies, plus what's open and closed on the May 27th holiday.

BEVERLY, MA -- Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day, and the city has several events scheduled. On Sunday, there will be a ceremony at 11 a.m. at Independence Park on Lothrop Street, followed by a cookout at the Herman A. Spear Post. There will be operational tanks and tracked vehicles on display.

On Monday, the Beverly Farms Parade begins at 9 a.m., followed by a cannon salute at West Beach. The downtown Beverly parade begins at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Spear Post and travels two miles through downtown. In addition to classic cars and the Creaganmore Pipes and Drums & Dancers, the parade will honor Beverly's oldest living veterans. There is a post-parade meal scheduled as well.

  • Subway, buses: Sunday schedule.
  • Supermarkets: Open
  • Convenience stores: Open
  • Bars: Open
  • Banks: Closed
  • Basically anything to do with municipal government: Closed
  • Libraries, see above: Closed
  • Schools: Closed
  • Mail: Express delivery only
  • Trash/recycling collection: Delayed one day. Monday pickup on Tuesday, Tuesday pickup on Wednesday, etc., ending with Friday pickup on Saturday.
