Mom With Two Picky Eaters Creates Kid-Friendly, All-Natural Food Toppers
Available in kid-friendly favorites - Banana Bread, Fruit Smoothie and PB&J - TippiTopper can be sprinkled on prepared meals or snacks.
Convinced her children would only eat pasta and chicken nuggets forever, Rochelle Rosen of Beverly, Mass., was a frustrated mother of two.
“My dinner table became the scene of nightly battles ending in time-outs and tears,” Rosen said. “Picky eating and mealtime troubles were always a topic of conversation among my friends. It was a constant debate to fight the fight, become a short order cook, or give in to their limited palate.”
Rosen’s two daughters are 3 and 6.

“I’ve always been a foodie,” Rosen said. “Always obsessed with food and nutrition.”
Concerned about inadequate nutrition and slow-growth rates, Rosen sought advice from pediatricians, friends, family and a nutritionist.

“I was embarrassed to be honest,” Rosen said. “My youngest was very slow to gain weight and was incredibly picky. I felt like I was failing because I couldn’t get her to eat.”
The advice centered on how to end the push-pull struggle and the other was to have kid-friendly, familiar flavors on the plate every meal. The question was how to do this in a convenient and healthy way.
Rosen created TippiTopper, a line of all natural seasonings for kids derived from fruit powders, and her product became an instant hit with her daughters, and her friend’s children. Positive word-of-mouth led her to make the decision to launch a company to produce the toppings in January.
Available in kid-friendly favorites - Banana Bread, Fruit Smoothie and PB&J - Rosen said TippiTopper can be sprinkled on any prepared meal or snack. It can also be used for cooking to add natural flavor and vibrant natural color.
TippiTopper starts with whole fruits, primarily organic, that are dehydrated and then pulverized. There are no artificial ingredients, preservatives, salts or sugars. The topping is ideal to add to yogurt, oatmeal and jams, according to Rosen.
“My kids got the familiar flavors they wanted and I got a clean plate,” Rosen said.
TippiTopper is currently available online at www.TippiTopper.com in 3.5 ounce bottles for $7.99 and at Appleton Farms Dairy Store in Ipswich, Mass. Rosen lives in Beverly and works from a commercial kitchen space in Amesbury. TippiTopper can also be found on Facebook.
