North Shore's 'Best Chef' Event To Benefit Beverly Bootstraps

Some of the region's finest chefs will compete in front of a live audience using ingredients found in the Beverly Bootstraps food pantry.

BEVERLY, MA — Some of the top chefs from across the North Shore will battle it out next month for bragging rights and to benefit Beverly Bootstraps services during the "Best Chef" event set for the Boston Marriott Peabody.

Aaron Chambers of Bernadette and Settler, Julio Varela of Mission Boathouse, and Mogs Moremong of ROOT will compete for the title, creating original dishes using 75 percent of ingredients found in the Beverly Bootstraps' Food Pantry.

Celebrity judges Anna Rossi, Bill Fogarty, Ryan Blodgett, and Katy Sweetland offer their expert critiques and ultimately decide who earns the title "Best Chef" in front of an audience of more than 250 attendees on April 10.

"We see every day how quickly life can change for someone," said Allison Caffrey, Executive Director of Beverly Bootstraps. "Our mission is to make sure no one faces a difficult transition alone.

"Whether it's parents struggling with rising costs, seniors facing eviction, or children who need school supplies, we are here to provide the food, resources, and support people need to get through these moments and keep moving forward."

Funds raised will help Beverly Bootstraps continue to serve more than 7,000 individuals in Beverly and the surrounding communities — Manchester, Essex, Hamilton, and Wenham — with food assistance, case management, adult education, youth and family programs, and its Thrift Shop.

"Best Chef brings our mission to life," Caffrey added. "It's a celebration of what's possible when a community comes together to care for one another."

Tickets for Best Chef start at $125 and are limited.
