Obituary: Garrett "Gary" John Lynch, 66; Former Salem Policer Officer, Bartended at the former Cracker's Pub in Beverly
His love for painting led him to start his own painting business known as Shamrock Painting.

Garrett “Gary” John Lynch 66, of Marblehead, formerly of Danvers, died May 13th 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Leonard C. and Margaret R. (Quinn) Lynch. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School. He continued his education at UMass- Amherst and Anna Maria College.

An honorably discharged veteran, Gary served his country as a member of the United States Navy.
Mr. Lynch had been employed as a Police Officer with the City of Salem Police Department. He was a well-known bartender in the North Shore area working at the former Cracker’s Pub in Beverly, The Bay Bridge in Salem, and Capone’s in Peabody.

His love for painting led him to start his own painting business known as Shamrock Painting. Gary later went on to finish his professional career with Maloney Properties of Eastern Massachusetts, where he was the Director of Facilities in their Lawrence location up until the time of his illness.
Mr. Lynch had a deep love for Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Growing up, Gary was an outstanding baseball player for the Salem High School Witches. Outside of being a great athlete, he loved rooting for his beloved Red Sox and Patriots with his children by his side. He had a passion for the beach, boating, playing golf, skiing, laughing, singing, playing the guitar, and his Irish heritage.
Gary was a loving father, brother, cousin, uncle, step-father and friend. He took great pride in all of the accomplishments of his beloved sons. He will be deeply missed.
Gary is survived by his sons, Ryan Garrett Lynch of Danvers and Colin Patrick Lynchof Danvers, his sister, Maureen Shaffaval of Danvers, the mother of his children, Patricia A. (King) Lynch, and his dear companion Alison Washburn of Marblehead, his step-daughters, Kristen Lawson of South Hamilton and Kelly Tetreau of New Orleans, La, several nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Monday, May 18th at 8:15 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers, at 9 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours Sunday, May 17th from 2 to 5 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gary’s memory to VNA of Middlesex-East, 607 North Avenue, Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
