Papa Gino's Posts Help Wanted Ads For Stores It Closed

The company posted help wanted ads for stores it abruptly closed in Andover, Beverly, Danvers and Weymouth.

DANVERS, MA -- Papa Gino's posted help wanted ads for an assistant manager and a team member at its Danvers Store on Friday. The only problem is the store is one of 95 the company closed nearly a week earlier as part of its bankruptcy filing.

In addition to the two openings in Danvers, the company posted ads Friday looking for team members in Andover, Beverly and Weymouth on the job site Glassdoor. Those three stores were also among the stores closed on November 3.

A spokesperson for Papa Gino's was not immediately available for comment, but the ad postings seem to have been automatically set to post on Glassdoor on Friday. The company also posted openings for its corporate headquarters in Dedham.

Papa Gino's shocked customers and employees when it didn't open the 95 stores on Sunday, Nov. 4. The following day the company said it would file for bankruptcy protection and would be sold to Wynnchurch Capital, a Chicago-based private equity firm. About 100 Papa Gino's stores, as well as 78 D'Angelo's restaurants that are also part of the sale to Wynnchurch remain open in New England.
