Police: People Scaling a Building Late Sunday Night Told Officers They Are Rock Climbers and Were Practicing For a Contest; Road Rage Incident Leads to Woman Being Robbed of Pocketbook; Assault and Battery on Officer

Sunday, April 12
At 4:21 p.m., break and enter motor into vehicle in parking garage on New Liberty Street. GPS, iPod and keys stolen from the vehicle.
At 5:00 p.m., break and enter motor into vehicle in parking garage on Liberty Street. Two iPads stolen from vehicle.

At 5:15 p.m., motor vehicle stop on Webb Street. Officers were on patrol and saw a vehicle known to police as a possible vehicle for shoplifters in the city. Officers observed the driver drive on the sidewalk on Webb Street and activated the blue lights. As officers approached the car doors, the passenger attempted to run away. The man attempted to punch and push one of the officer, and then fled on foot. Additional officers and a K9 responded, but did not fund the suspect. Police sought a warrant for Ryan Hussein for disorderly person, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on an officer.
At 6:42 p.m., malicious destruction of property over $250 on Winter Island Road. Party out of control man breaking things as officers arrived. Three men left a house on Webb Street; one walked ahead of the others and looked upset. Carlos Torres was arrested for malicious destruction of property, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.

At 7:53 p.m. burglary on Bridge Street. False teeth stolen.
At 8:07 p.m., disturbance on Gallows Circle. Neighborhood dispute.
At 10:12 p.m., road rage/unarmed robbery on Linden Street in area of Holly Street. Woman in a vehicle told officers that her vehicle was struck from behind. That road rage incident turned into her being robbed of her pocketbook.
At 11:29 suspicious activity on Central Street. Parties climbed the back of a building. Officers identified the female and male climbers, who did not have any warrants. The two people told officers that they are rock climbers and were just practicing for a contest. Officers advised them not to climb any more buildings.
