Jury Dismissed For Day In Lindsay Clancy Triple Murder Trial As Mistrial Looms

PLYMOUTH, MA — Duxbury mom Lindsay Clancy's lawyer wants a juror replaced in the case, according to reports.

"Judge William Sullivan denied Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer’s bid to have a juror removed who allegedly “refused” to follow the law on reasonable doubt," a New York Post story said.

The jury had already told Judge William Sullivan twice that it cannot come to a unanimous decision in the case. He questioned them individually before sending them back Thursday afternoon for further deliberation.

"Once each juror speaks to the judge, they are taken back out of the courtroom. Reddington is standing behind Clancy, who is about three feet from the jurors as they are brought in," PBS reported.

Thursday's session ended without a verdict.

"The jury in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial was sent home for the day Thursday and will return on Friday at 9 a.m. ET for further deliberations," according to CNN.

Clancy, 36, is charged with the January 2023 murders of 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan Clancy.

"Prosecutors have said that in January 2023, Clancy intentionally strangled the three children with fitness bands in their Massachusetts home before jumping out of a second-floor window," the BBC reported. "Clancy, now 36, was paralysed by the jump and has attended the trial in a wheelchair."

"Clancy has admitted that she killed her children in 2023. However, her attorney, Kevin Reddington, claims her mental state was so impaired by postpartum mental illness that she shouldn’t be held criminally responsible for their deaths," according to WBUR.
